No surprise that Donald Trump hasn’t bothered to consult Congress before going to war to support Saudi backed jihadist terrorists in Syria – furthering American ambitions towards regime change (imperialist conquest) that they have been actively pursuing for many years.
No surprise that Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman of Saudi Arabia recently visited all three countries that have just launched airstrikes.
No surprise that with a war mongering lunatic like John Bolton at his side that the grotesque narcissism of Trump could be manipulated so easily into war.
No surprise that the airstrikes were launched before the OPCW had even begun to investigate the alleged chemical weapons attack in Douma – so neither the occurrence nor the perpetrators are confirmed and now never will be.
No surprise that the airstrikes happened despite widespread domestic opposition and before a groundswell of popular resistance could grow.
No surprise that Theresa May didn’t have the backbone to stand up to Trump.
No surprise that Theresa May ignored parliament to follow orders from Trump.
No surprise that Macron (the French Tony Blair) is happy to drag France into war.
No surprise that protecting civilians is the fig leaf which is being deployed to licence another illegal war. As the blood flows, as children scream and innocents are buried in Syria, don’t expect any media portal to cover their suffering.
No surprise that the direct involvement of the U.S. and its allies for starting and maintaining the war in Syria is a taboo subject in the mainstream media.
No surprise that Murdoch flagship The Times uses its front page to attack dissenting voices this morning or that Sky News abruptly cuts off any heterodox commentator.
No surprise that The Guardian and the BBC et al have slavishly carried the government’s line in the preamble to this attack and continue to do so, acting as enablers and cheerleaders for war – The Guardian in particular must never be forgiven for this outrage.
No surprise that Jeremy Corbyn is the ONLY senior politician to stand tall in the defence of peace and justice in Syria.
The only surprise may lie in the future – as two nuclear superpowers shoot down each others fighters…
